Patkós Bistro

The food is really good. We had beef Goulash stew, the meat was very tender, delicious! Also the Gypsy Steak was very good. The decor is also nice. There is a service fee of 12%. They could really improve on the service though ;). If you want to pay separately TELL THEM BEFOREHAND, like when you are in the "Ordering Phase". We paid by card so didn't have any "cash only" issues like the other reviewers.

Very good food. Lovely little place with decent service, well priced and tasty food that we both really enjoyed. The gypsy steak simply melted apart, it was so delicious!

A tourist trap. Seems to be nice and the atmosphere is OK, but it's too pricey for what they offer you. The service is not very good as well I wouldn't call them rude but they lack people skills... Also it's cash only. If you have the chance skip this place and find a better alternative in the not so touristy part of the city. The food is just plain average bordering on low quality.

What a terrible rip off. We really should have known better at our age! We thought we would try a “traditional” Hungarian meal inc the amazing Hungarian hospitality we have experienced so far on our visit to Budapest. Looks ok from the outside. We were very close to our hotel and wanted a quick meal fix. We should have walked by. Not a particularly great welcome from the staff, very bland decor and not very comfortable. A complicated badly written menu with hidden charges in very small print at the back of the menu. Our food was very average. Bordering on the bland side. Waiter service was pretty appalling. We paid €40 in total for our meal which we thought was a complete rip off and not good value at all. Please avoid and spend your money in a establishment that values your custom. 99% of other eating houses do!!

They have a very a good goulash soup and welcoming staff... everything went nice until we had to pay. Credit cards were not accepted(Although the menu says they are), a no optional 12% service fee was charged (regularly it is 10%) and the guy who served us refused to gave us the change claiming there was no big difference ( it was about 1€, no significant money, however nothing like this happened us in Budapest with less change and does not seem honest to me). Seems as some instant extra buckets have more value in this place that good customer's experiences and reviews(just check other similar reviews, I saw them too late). Better to avoid this place, there are plenty other options around
