I made a huge mistake in trying to service my car in the Sopron brand service of Opel Orientik Motor Car Kft. Following the diagnosis, the service advisor (N.R.) stated that there is a high probability that the intake manifold is defective and will not be serviced that day. We agreed on another time, but before I left the service, he added that he could recommend repairing the intake manifold with a so-called "plugging" (removing / disabling intake manifold valves) and that there is one such modification in YOUR OWN CAR that could save you money in the long run. however, Opel Authorized Repairer does not make such a change and eventually suggested that I try elsewhere. (THIS CANNOT BE RECOMMENDED BY A BRAND SERVICE EMPLOYEE !!!) After leaving the service, in the following days I looked for the "plugging" solution suggested by the service consultant, which is of course not a regular intervention in a vehicle! I decided to follow the rules / regulations and stay with the service of the suction line. The service consultant mentioned that in the worst case, the intake manifold can be replaced, which can be ordered at a discount for HUF 140,000 (original Opel), and its installation will be undertaken for HUF 33,000. I asked for time, because I bet that price on it, because some online stores offer more than 20% cheaper, and aftermarket (Pierburg) parts at half price. After I decided to choose the Pierburg part, I asked the service consultant if they would undertake its installation. N.R. he also agreed that I could order the part directly from the branded service center, but added that the suction line would be sent without insulation, which I can buy at the branded service center for 10,400 HUF, but they cannot guarantee the installed part. After agreeing and requesting another date, I renegotiated the cost of servicing, which N.R. according to it does not change, so it remained at 33,000 HUF. About 1 week after the deal, when the part had already arrived at the dealership, I brought my car and N.R. stated that the service will be more than 70,000 HUF, as he waived the costs of the service. I think this was definitely not fair, in fact, utterly outrageous from an experienced brand service employee! I asked N.R that I would definitely like to talk to the director of the brand service, which I did, but unfortunately I could not explain my problem in detail at the moment as I was in a very outraged state. What was most disturbing is that they didn’t admit they made a mistake and tried to shake it off. In my opinion, such a case is completely unacceptable and will damage the reputation of this branded service and Opel in the long run. I am confident that Opel will strive to maintain its reputation and that someone will contact me, or the relevant dealership, Opel Hungary, or Opel Germany Customer Service.
