I went for lunch alone so I've only had the pleasure to enjoy one dish. Decided to go with the bone marrow soup, since someone recommended it. I was not disappointed, it was delicious! The atmosphere is quite cozy and a bit fancy. The staff are nice and speak good English. A little out of my budget, but I would still recommend it!

Amazing food. Loved it. I recommend goulash.

Superb quality food with stellar presentation and hospitality. If you are visiting Hungary and would like to try real Hungarian cuisine, then avoid the tourist traps of the Danube avenue and visit this cozy little place for an amazing experience, with nightly live music, exceptional service from waiters and staff and of course gorgeously delicious food. We have been here over 10 times already and it never disappointed. PS.: If you have a little place left for treats, definitely try their Mákosguba dessert. It is legendary!

Suggestion for a new name: Enchanted Inn of the Shrinking Portions

There are few more appetising scenes in Hungarian film history than when Zoltán Latinovits tucks into bone marrow in Szindbád. The mouth-watering feasts are recurring motifs of the colourful and expressive works of novelist Gyula Krúdy, and the writer himself gladly and regularly succumbed to the pleasures of that signature dish, the drink and surroundings of the this very Kéhli restaurant in Óbuda. On the menu here, you can still find several traditional Hungarian dishes which made Szindbád froth at the mouth, and the walls are decorated with Krúdy’s eloquent lines. And the small inner garden still exudes a magical atmosphere of Krúdy’s world.
