one of my favorite dog walking places

Pleasant walk on Triple Border Hill. It was in good air and it was even clean. Unfortunately, this cannot be said of Mount Gellerth.

A very pleasant walk can be done in the fresh air. "EQUIPMENT On the side of Hármashatár Hill, a wide forest promenade (also an interactive study trail) runs for approx. At an altitude of 370 meters. The forest road crossing the steep slope gives you a pleasant walk in the dense abundance of the mountain, where you can leave the city and still hike inside. On the steep north-eastern slope of Hármashatár Hill, there is a wide promenade. We can’t see from below when we look our eyes at the mountain, as the foliage of the trees rolls over it like a tunnel. There are no significant panoramic points on the long straight sections, although in some places we have a view of the city under our feet, and in two places a lookout terrace has been built. Outside of a few cliffs, it’s really just the lush forest that will be our companion for walking, but that’s exactly what it’s worth to walk along Guckler Road. The trip is enriched by a 14-station, interactive study trail, on which we can use our mobile phone to learn more about the values of the region and the history of Óbuda. On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the construction of the promenade, the Pilis Park Forest renovated it, so the study trail was also built in 2018 together with the lookout points. The eponymous Károly Guckler was the chief forest consultant and forester of Budapest from the end of the 19th century. The reforestation of the Buda hills, which have been harvested to meet the firewood needs of the capital and the vineyards, is connected to its name. At the dawn of tourism, the needs of the population, who were increasingly going to nature and building holiday homes in places, became less and less satisfied with the sight of the barren hillsides. Another reason for reforestation was the phylloxera epidemic that destroyed the vines. Guckler envisioned the creation in 1918 of a promenade for recreational purposes, supported by retaining walls, on the steep side of Triple Border Hill, which we would almost walk along during our trip. But not completely, as the road leaves Budapest on the side of the Peak Hill.

A good little excursion place, the terrace terraces on the setany are perfectly designed. It is also a route for children, dogs, joggers and cyclists. It is quite muddy during the rainy season.
