The park also has a lot of interesting thoughts, but I came because of the church. Crumbs of centuries meet in it. Almost nothing is whole, not complete, everything shows itself just a little bit. The Romanesque age of the kings of Árpádháza, the Gothic of Sigismund, and perhaps even the renaissance of the spirit of Matthias. In the slope of a window, in a stone frame of another, in a donkey arch, in orphaned guardian stones, or in a sacristy recessed in a wall. And, of course, in the furniture of the Reformation. It’s a weird but very eloquent mix - especially here in the deserted village on the edge of the border. The atmosphere of the end of the world is only enhanced by the desolation of the road leading to the damp slums in the autumn, the pitted, muddy asphalt of the puddle.

One part of the church in Nagygéc dates from the time of Árpád and the other part from the time of Matthias. In 1970, in the great flood, the village was destroyed, but the church survived. It was renovated in 2014 and the memorial park was established around it. The photos were taken in 1991.

We had a beautiful, clean, tidy memorable, sight-rich experience.
