The Szentmihályi Móricz Zsigmond Cultural House performs the public cultural tasks of two settlements. The parent institution operates in Szentmihály, while the Gyálaréti Cultural Center (6757 Szeged, Koszorú u. 39.) is an attached institution in Gyálarét. The interesting thing about the primary building in Szentmihály is that in the 1900s it operated as a pepper mill, Lábdy lived in the public consciousness as a mill. The building has been a cultural home since 1956, after the conversion of an old mill. Between 1964 and ’66, the building was expanded and, with the addition of a new upstairs section, made to have excellent building facilities to perform public cultural tasks. In both settlements, it is important to nurture traditions and boost cultural life. The staff of the institutions try to involve all residents in the implemented programs, regardless of age and gender, social background.

Kind and friendly, great for events. * My photos were taken of a very beautiful Móricz house in Szeged, built in the Art Nouveau style at the beginning of the last century, which is located elsewhere and is named after József Móricz, a postal official from Szeged, but another shapely ornament of the city. :)

Great for any event, be it wedding, graduation, engagement, birthday .... It has a very cultivated garden, an oven and a barbecue. The House of Culture also offers self-organized programs and exhibitions.
