In 1703, the Greek Catholic Catholic priest Lőrinc de Jamse de Camellis bishop Joseph Coco, while Demeter's priest was mentioned in a 1705 census. According to the record of the Canaan visit in 1751, the wooden church was built 29 years earlier, ie in 1722, but it was already ruined, had the necessary equipment, and the iconostasis consisted only of basic images. The community built its still existing stone church around 1777-78 with the consent of the Royal Hungarian Chamber of Courts exercising patriotic rights. The plan of the iconostasis of the church was made by Johannes Feck, a carver of Kassa in 1786, but the present stand was set up by Gyula Spisák and Imre, around 1910. The facade tower was blown up in 1944, and the damage was later restored. The paintings were painted by Mihai Pascariu, who also renewed the iconostasis in 1992.
