"The monument to the heroic dead of World War I in Cegléd was inaugurated on November 13, 1927. Miklós Horthy was also present at the ceremony. The main motif of the monument is a limestone obelisk. At the top of this is Turul, who holds a sword in his beak. In front of the obelisk are a group of soldiers attacking - an ensign, a horn, and an infantry. Page names of heroes, nearly 1000 names! An addition was made in 1991: according to the plans of István Novák, a memorial wall was erected around the monument, where the II. the names of the victims of World War II are inscribed.
