The Sapientia College of Monastic Theology is a joint theological college of the Benedictine Congregation of Pannonhalma, the Franciscan Provincial Order of St. John of Capistrán (since 2006 the Lady of the Hungarians) and the Hungarian Order of the Piarist Order, which was legally established on January 1, 2000. The Hungarian leaders of the three orders have negotiated the merger of their theological colleges since 1995 (Pannonhalma St. Gellert Theological College, Franciscan Theological College and Kalazantinum Piarist Theological and Teacher Training College) and finally agreed in 1998. At that time, it was decided that the college to be established with integration would be the Váci Street convent of the Piarists in Budapest, which was still in use at the Eötvös Loránd University Faculty of Humanities. Under the agreement, the Piarist Order provides the college with free use for 30 years, but in return, Sapientia is reconstructing the building with World Bank support and allowing the college on the upper floors of the building to be used by the Piarist boarding school. The first year of college began in September 2000. The renovation of the Váci Street building actually started in August 2001 and was completed by December 2002. Since January 2003, the teaching has been in the reconstructed building and the administration of the college has moved. The new chapel, located on the site of the former Piarist archives, was consecrated on November 18, 2004 by Astrik Várszegi, the High Father of Pannonhalma.

Very nice building with modern technology. Good and well-prepared teachers teach here.

The Sapientia College of Religious Sciences is located in the neighborhood of the Piarist Order and the Belvárosi Church, in a beautiful state. The college was established by combining the theological colleges of Benedictine, Franciscan, and Piarist monastic orders. The merged entity started operations on 1 January 2000. Currently, besides the aforementioned three founding orders, members of other religious orders, pastors and laymen also work as educators.
