"It is a rare thing in the life of a small village that it is the scene of a nationally famous event. The main goal was to occupy Győr, the task of the Almás operation was to prevent the enemy from attacking the army. the dawn attack hit the enemy so unexpectedly that they fled to Esztergom on their backs. The battle lasted for an hour. A cockade-shaped monument preserves the memory of the war of independence a few meters from the scene of the battle. "
