This area is surrounded by the Cserta-Danube, the Káposztás-Danube and the Old Danube. The word Cserta is of Slavic origin, probably a shortening and modification of black water. Gemenc has changed its image the most in this region in the last 150 years. We only stayed in the barren zone for a few minutes because the darkening process (sunset) had already started.
