Great place. Deer and wild boars came out to the road along the way. Be prepared for loads of mosquitoes and other flying insects, including blood suckers (at least during summer). The sign posts showing the paths were scarce and got lost constantly (which can be frustrating to many). Locals go fishing and some mountain biking is possible.

We went on a Sunday and there were not enough trains after 12 noon. Since we wanted to spend more than 10 minutes there, we opted for walking back from Malomteleo, which should have been a 3 hour long walk but got lost thanks to the lack of signs. Lots of mosquitoes, place is absolutely infested with them!! Train was cute but We won't go again x

Home station of the railway running in the Gemenc forest. Good family program. One should hire bikes or canoes from the railway company and these can be transported by the train.

It is very good to go out, train, see wild and of course you can go with the iconic steam locomotive which is unconsciously good and nostalgic as it flutters, hums and sounds. Worth to try.

Once one is thrown away at Gemenc and has a way of seeing the giant just glowing in red, he can never get rid of this unique sight bestowed by the bustling forest. At dawn, the hoarfrost and dew on the leaves of the trees, the golden-yellow glow of the fog, make us stay. The meandering Danube and its negligible Gemenc have attracted man for centuries. A lord, a hiding place, also turned here, and all those for whom these forests, waters, groves formed the most beautiful place in the world, Gemenc.
