As an American with a Hungarian mother who cooks like a pro, I am a little picky when I eat basic food. I do not like fish other than Salmon and Tuna, so my review will be lacking, as this place is a big draw for fish lovers. What I did have was their bean soup with dumplings, and palacsinta. The soup was on par to my mother's, had lots of beans and smoked pork and little dumplings, served perfectly hot, a basket of bread was not included in the price. We later had palacsinta, which thankfully took a small amount of time, which means they made all of the ingredients fresh. Many Hungarians know that this is an expected standard, but you would be surprised how many places don't have the taste of freshness. Thankfully this place does! They were also willing to mix cocoa powder with turo cheese for my palacsinta. And the service was more proof of the famous Hungarian personality of kindness. The prices were correct according to the portions and food quality. A great place for a nice warm filling meal that is easy on your pockets. I will be going back for more!

Nothing special, ordinary fish food

I confess, while I can really appreciate molecular cuisine, sous vide, the virtuoso game of flavors and textures, I also value traditional Hungarian food, including mainly fried fish and fish soup. So often a market fish fryer can give me a cathartic experience, which I am certainly not alone with. It is no coincidence that traveling to Eger, we stopped at the buffet 33 next to the Lidl car park, which advertises with visible letters from afar that fried fish is given here. The place is tidy, clean, the service is very nice, the prices are friendly. In addition to fish, they also offer tripe stew, which is also an attractive offer, but we stayed with catfish paprika and fish soup. We ate our meals on the pleasant shaded terrace. I would have caught the salt back a bit, but basically both of our dishes were enjoyable, the fresh fish carries everything. It wouldn’t be against me to stop here to eat roast bream, carp or even hake on occasion. For me, that's a decent four points.

The hake and the garnish were delicious. The lady who served was very nice. Thank you, we will come again.

I didn't eat fish, just a bean goulash. Nothing special. The bread, the usual packed crumb for 50 ft. The prices are higher than usual.
