Remenyik Zsigmond Emlékkő

Zsigmond László Remenyik (Dormánd, 19 July 1900 - Budapest, 30 December 1962) is a Hungarian writer. His first writings were published by The Week, Today, The West and The Independent Review. He made a mockery of the Summer Citizen world, eg. In the work of Oliver and the Human World (1936). In his tragicomedy, he portrayed the victims of moral error. . His passion, his bitter view of reality, his ironic and avant-garde attitude, his receptivity to the tragedy, his anti-Nazism and his pamphlet leanings all determine the nature of his satires. After 1945 he wrote much of the Apocalipsis Humana novel series; in these, the first quarter of this century depicted the life of a fallen gentleman's society, the sinking world of rural mansions, with sharp satire and strong criticism.
