Kacsa Kocsmája

On a day after a serious wine tasting, a must-see spot, excellent coffee, local beer (Borsodi), a very pleasant owner / barista / host. We were enriched with unconscious experiences, thank you for the opportunity!

It is extremely disappointing to face a restaurant of this quality in Mád. When jellyfish furmint is poured from a 20-liter can of cans in a settlement with perhaps the most elaborate wine production in Hungary, one's eyes are quite wide. It’s still a big mystery to me why the pubs in the wine regions don’t find batches of cheaper produce from local producers that are reliable in quality and yet cheap. We need a big change in this regard. I don’t give it 1 star because a local acclaimed winemaker has confirmed that otherwise the place operator (whom we unfortunately didn’t have a chance to meet anyway) is a very likeable, kind, bare-hearted, sympathetic and direct gentleman who often stands behind the counter. That’s why I encourage everyone to go for a - strictly bottled - beer and a Unicum in case they meet him.
