Ladi park

On the border of the former Magyarlad and Németlad, today, in the middle of the village, there is the castle of Count Miksa Hoyos and the park surrounding it. Underneath the two-story, five-hundred-square-foot building is a large, two-hundred-square-foot cellar system. The late Navy captain also planted exotic plants in his 28-hectare park, which was declared protected in 1943. Extremely valuable plant rarities make the building unique. Miksa Hoyos, who was also an obsessed collector, planted hardwood, yew tree from East China alongside the sessile oak and maple, and we can find pine trees in his countless evergreens. The former Hoyos Castle, built in the style of an English hunting castle, was a landmark in its early days.
