Gyulai Várfürdő

This is the nicest spa and water park in the South of Hungary. The spa area offers treatments with mineral water / thermal water. There are both inside and outside pools. The outside pools are in a park with nice trees, each tagged with its species like in a botanic garden. In a newer building there is the inside amusement area with water slides and hot tubs. One can easily spend a whole day there with family or friends regardless of age.

It's a nice place, but I will not go back too soon. The reasons are the following: - the ticket to access the swimming facilities is a bit too expensive (around 5.000 HUF/adult); - they let in people from a certain ethnic group (which have a reputation of being dirty, smelly and steal), so the spa is not selecting their own customers; - in a few swimming pools, you can feel the sand under your feet.. so the cleanliness is not perfect; - the staff is not paying too much attention to the activity inside and in the vicinity of the pools (ex. a woman got into the pool fully dressed, a lot of parents got into the kids pool); - the sunbeds don't respect the minimum physical distance of 1.5 meters; - the floor is too slippery and I almost fell down a few times (a teenage girl fell down and bang her head against a railing; she needed medical assistance).

Big bath. There are some nice slides. Good place to relax. Childs play area could be bigger. Only few utilities old that are not repaired. Overall good experience

A great place to relax and enjoy hydro massages, warm water, a few interesting water slides and other contents. This place isn't crowded and you can always find something interesting to do. Everything is clean, tidy and works properly. The only complaints I have are in regard to the lack of people who speak English and the fact that everything everywhere is written in Hungarian only (sometimes in Romanian as well).

The new area with the bar and waterslides is nice, but the older one with the hot baths not so. The water was a few degrees less than specified. And don’t buy the extra sauna ticket. The saunas also are quite cold and you have better saunas included in the Aqua Palota ticket
