Munkácsy Hotel

When we got to the hotel I had them clean my room again as there was hair all over the bed sheets. The floors were dirty and the bed had dead bugs on it along with sticky tape to catch any live bugs. The shower is small and turns off every time bc I accidentally bumped into it in it’s small space. The hot tub is very dirty and my swimsuit top had a lot of nasty floaters in it when I got out of the hot tub. I soon learned anyone off the streets can come use the pool, spa, and gym. The staff are all young eyerollers who just can’t wait to sit back at the bar during after hours and get drunk. I felt like I was at a frat house and not a 4.8 star hotel! I hated staying here but the good hotel was booked and my company already booked it. The second time I got the same room and it still looked like the sheets had not been changed. (Orange spot still on bed sheets, same spot 2weeks later) I If I could I would give this hotel zero stars.

We thought of a bold, we called the hotel on Friday to book a table for a Sunday birthday breakfast. We were informed by a phone call from a man that there was no need to book a table, there were not enough hotel guests to book. So we couldn't book. We went there this morning, looking at us like space creatures, wondering what the hell we wanted. There were five of us, the lady serving us drove us out to the terrace because there she could push two tables together, hacked a little, bothered to talk, because then she could have prepared a place ... we said we started with that, but they refused to book. We said that if we were disturbed we could go ... Then we just had breakfast, I don't have to say the taste of the song has been bitter ever since, despite the lady's frosty, almost condescending style and said in the end that they are waiting for us at other times and yes can also be booked, i can't believe this after all and i think i don't want any more here. I ate breakfast but I can’t appreciate it because they took our appetite with their style, it was a big disappointment. I'm really sorry.

We spent 1 night at the hotel and were very happy with everything. Upon arrival, the receptionist was very helpful and kind. The rooms are clean and sophisticated. At noon that day we had lunch at the hotel, we could choose from several dishes within the menu. The food was a’la carte quality and the strawberry cream soup with basil cream was phenomenal. We are happy to return again!

It is a very nicely furnished hotel, but it would be good for the staff to teach some basic catering knowledge as it is mostly filled with young people who do not really know how to work. When we were there for a major event, the hotel almost turned upside down, everyone was ready for the event and less focus on the hotel guests. For example, in the evening we were standing at the reception, when a drunk young man sat in the place of the reception lady and spoke to me in disrespectful manner, without speaking to me, asking for respect and answering that they had a corporate event and relaxed. A young breakfast man at the weekend might also spend more time catering than training in the gym below, for example. a smile in the morning for the arriving guests, or a question as to whether we needed something, we would have returned with fond memories. It was a bit funny to walk around pulling myself out so that I almost forgot that I was a paying guest and he would have to serve me. The rooms are clean, nice, the hotel tries to pay attention to environmental awareness, but the walls are very thin, I even heard the curtain pulled up in the room next to us while the TV went. The toilet seat in the washroom was torn off, we almost fell off the toilet a couple of times and the wellness area is not only used by the hotel guests, but there are quite a few outside guests from the town and the surrounding area. But what we were very pleased with was the professional and kind service of the 2 ladies at the dinner, the food was delicious and helped us to get a cake for which we thank you. All in all, it would not be a 4✴︎ hotel rating for us, we have been to many places and the attitude of the staff has always been decisive, there really seems to be no person to guide or teach the staff to pay attention to for details.
