Good day out for kids . Lot of animals to feed

Great place. The zoo is situated in a forest like surrounding. Some part feel like the actual natural inhabitant of the animals. We arrived early at the opening. Some of the animals were still sleeping in the morningbut woke up by the time we were leaving. You can easily spend 3-4 hours even with a 3 years old kid. The playground is safe and even grown-ups can find challenging equipment. Loved it.

Compared to the Budapest Zoo the Szeged Zoo is spawning a much bigger area in a nice park with lots of trees. It's a nice walk in the shade even if it's hot in summer. There are quite a number of animals grouped by continent. The Zoo has a website with the list of animals, you can check it out. The infrastructure is nicely built. There is a nice terrace to observe girrafes, but I think the main attraction for kids are the meerkats (suricate) sunbathing and the petting farm with goats and an alpaca.

Lovely place that you can even host a birthday party. Also you can support the animals.

Have walking shoes as there is some walking involved! When ordering food, take a picture of it so you can clarify what you want as they don’t really speak other language than Hungarian. Parking is free on the grass but you might find a spot under the shade on a narrow road. there is a store at the exit in case you want to get some memorabilia.
