A small walk around the Kis-Balaton House We were already past noon, when we parked at the Kis-Balaton House. Well, not at the house, a good few stone's throw from it. To the parking lot, an army of people walked the landscape. Before we looked at the Kis-Balaton House, we made a “circle of respect” around it. We moved counterclockwise. Why? Because it is the most eye-catching sight left for the end of dessert. First we looked at the dazzling white brick church. 700 graves were excavated in the cimatorium of his predecessor. Interestingly, due to lack of space, there were also multi-storey graves. Family members were buried on top of each other. We looked through the ruins of Hadrian’s pilgrimage church, the flood of monuments, and then came the dessert, a “I couldn’t deny” Makovecz building, from which a “glass pyramid” stood out with a cross on top. It was the millennium monument with which the 1000-year-old Zala County surprised itself. It is certainly a “fussy” and even a “fluffy” gift. The interior of the yurt-like building hides a tree of life. It has exactly as many letters as there are settlements in the county. There is a name on each letter. They are separate and yet one. The image of St. Stephen on the trunk of the tree of life. He is the creator of this tree of life. I shudder at the genius of idea and implementation. Around the walls are information boards about the wonders of Zala County. I’ve seen a lot of them before, but for me, this Makovecz building and the message that lies within it is the greatest, unrepeatable and eternal miracle.

It is an impressive interactive exhibition, which presents, among other things, the wildlife of Kis-Balaton and the history and origin of the area. Polite and helpful service staff.

It's nice to spend some time during the excursion to the little balaton.

Kis-Balaton is a pleasant place for excursions. In winter it is not the most ideal ... but big bird paradises are great to observe. I have reservations with the memorial place. Mosaburg near Villach (Moosburg), Cyrillic and Methodius: Cirill method in our language .. two words made a legend .. In 1841 Mosaburg started to engage Zalavár with Pan-Slav ideology, specifically a Lutheran pastor, then begin to archeologicalize the Russian occupation and "accidentally" find everything in the excavations as it is written in the books and sources ... There is no relevant Slavic archeological monument in the area .. and the whole of Transdanubia is lacking in evidence. Hungarian funds from Zalavár are quoted from the 1200s ... These are just facts and ideologies free. But this is why Kis-Balaton is beautiful, this is also a fact.

The visitor in Zalavár receives a pleasant and valuable experience in the exhibition of the naturalist, naturalist and Kis Balaton in the Small House of Balaton. Pleasant, because the supervisor of the show has done all it can to inform the visitor properly, is valuable because it also makes it clear to the school children that it is a very important task to protect the environment. The exhibit was made lifelike with the stuffed animals and the visitor acquainted with the life course of personalities that have pioneered the restoration of Kis-Balaton. Which slightly overshadowed the visit that the Makovecz-designed Memorial Building was closed by November, but the excavations and their positioning and the the holy Cyrillic and Metod memorials were somewhat compensated.
