Aranyponty Halászcsárda - Rétimajor

Went around 1.30 pm to this lovely fish restaurant and sat outside in their very welcoming courtyard. Staff were friendly although no English was spoken we managed to order from the menu which was in Hungarian and English! We ate catfish and chicken dishes which were extremely good value for money. The food came quickly and tasted great. The portion sizes are large. Would definitely recommend if you are in this area of rural Hungary.

The fish steak was uneatable, soaked in a sweat sauce. The jasmine rice wasn’t jasmine, and was over cooked 😕

When in the area in the countryside, you definitely should visit it.
