Ketep Pass

Nice spot and nice view of the mountains. We had rented a two wheeler in Yogyakarta and drove ourselves here. I know usually you will find tours taking you around Yogyakarta but renting a bike and going yourself is also not that bad. Leave early and enjoy the nice surrounding. You can drive on different routes and have flexibility. Enjoy your time roaming around here.

Ketep has amazing panaroma of Merbabu Mount and Merapi Volcano. Many facilities are offered to visitors. We can watch the documentary movie of Merapi eruption in the theater. If we want to see the view clearly, renting telescopes is the good choice. But if we are lucky to get there when it is sunny, we can enjoy the pretty panorama without using telescope. Miniature of Merapi and surroundings is shown in the Merapi Volcano Museum. You can also have lunch in the restaurant that serve many local foods. Don't forget to buy yummy roasted corn in the food stalls. Ah, the mosque is so clean. The parking lot is so wide. I extremely had a good time there!
