The only inn that have air conditioner around, Mr. Tarmidi the owner also very helpful with our needs. I'm a tourist guide and it's the second time I sleep in here with my guest. Usually I'm preferred to sleep at the houseboat.

My husband and I are traveling around Kalimantan. We decided to spend some time along the Sungkai Mahakam organising our trip by our own. We left from Samarinda by Kapal and stopped in Muara Muntai a really lovely village on the Mahakam River, right at the entrance of the big lake ( Danau Jempang). We saw on google the address of this colourful Penginapan and decided to stop here two nights. It has been a very nice experience in the whole:the owner of the Penginapan are very very nice, though they don't speak a word of English we could communicate with translator and with the help of the people. Their homestay is very nice, colorful and very very clean. They have nine bedrooms all of them with AC and well equipped. The bathroom are shared but again very clean and well equipped: shampoo, conditioner toothpaste and a comb. The showers are new. There is fresh and hot water available all day long, as well as coffe, tea, chocolate, milk and others. Breakfast is included and can be indonesian or western.Travelling on the Sungai Mahakam by oneself is not easy at all. They helped us in many many differsnt ways. They arranged for us a ces to visit all the neighbourhood ( the lake, Tanjung Isuy and Ohong River till Mancong); they helped us to organise our leaving from Muara Muntai to Melak by night Kapal and many other things. This information can really be very useful for independent travellers. This is a homestay that is worth to stay; Muara Muntai is a nice village where it is worth to spend two or three days.
