Ranu Pane or Lake Pane is a small lake, also a name of a village. This is a transit place before hiking Semeru volcano or Ranu Kumbolo, because the government’s official office for verifying the online hiking application is located here. Paid parking area for motorcycle and car is available. A small hostel is available; but everyone can camp by lake side - free of charge. From here the top of Semeru volcano is visible. At night stars are clearly seen. The lake is brownish in color and temperature is quite cold at night. Porter to carry all hiking gears are also available for hire.
