Istiqlal

The largest mosque in South East Asia. The Architect is Frederich Silaban. It is located in Central Jakarta. The fastest and easiest way to get here is by commuter line and transjakarta. The nearest train station is Juanda Station. Right in front of the Istiqlal. If you want to reach Al Fattah gate, you can get in from the side gate across the transjakarta shelter. You can also reach Al Fattah gate right from in front of Cathedral church. Istiqlal mosque is used frequently for 5 daily prayers and also for moslem big day prayers such as Idul Fitri and Idul Adha. It is also frequently used for moslem community gathering and lecturing.

This is the one of the closest bus shelter of Transjakarta to Istiqlal Mosque, the most well known mosque in Indonesia and one of the biggest in South East Asia. This place is also quite close to Catholic Cathedral of Jakarta. If you come from Pasar Senen, you can get out from the bus here, but if you come from Harmoni, it is better to get out at Juanda station (adjacent to Pasar Baru). The place is quite small but enough, and the accessibility is good.
