The Tangerang Military Academy, under the command of Major Daan Mogot, was first formed in the City of Tangerang. At that time there were several military academies, which were later merged into the Military Academy (ex Militaire Academie), in Magelang, Central Java, in 1957.nnOn January 25, 1946, Major Daan Mogot led dozens of cadets from the Tangerang Military Academy to the headquarters of the Japanese troops, in Lengkong Village, Tangerang, on a mission to disarm the Japanese troops.nnMogot was accompanied by a number of officers, including Major Wibowo, Lieutenant Soetopo, and Lieutenant Soebianto Djojohadikusumo (uncle of Prabowo Soebijanto). Driving three trucks and one military jeep, they left for Lengkong, and at the front gate of the headquarters, the Japanese army stopped them.nnAt that time, only Mogot, Major Wibowo, and a cadet from the Tangerang Military Academy, were allowed to negotiate with the leader of the Japanese forces. The Djojohadikusumo and Soetopo led the cadets who were waiting outside.nnInitially the disarming process was smooth but suddenly there was a burst of gunfire and submachine gunfire from a hidden direction. That was the beginning of unbalanced gun contact.nnHearing a barrage of weapons, some Japanese soldiers recaptured their weapons which were originally handed over. It is easy to guess that the Mogot troops collapsed because of the unbalanced weapon strength. 33 cadets and three TRI officers were killed in the incident, plus a cadet from the Tangerang Military Academy who died in the hospital. Since then the battle has been called the Battle of Lengkong.nnTo commemorate the Battle of Lengkong, two historic sites were erected, namely Taruna Pahlawan Heroes Park which is located at KM 24.5 Jalan Raya Daan Mogot, Tangerang, and Lengkong Monument, in the Serpong region.nnOn the walls of the monument inscription, erected in 1993, the names of cadets and officers who were killed at the Battle of Lengkong are engraved. While in the museum, there are photos of the struggle of military cadets in Indonesia and their academies.nnIn 2005, the Army Chief of Staff (at that time), TNI General Ryamizard Ryacudu, designated January 25 (1946) as the Military Academy Youth Service Day.nnNow the community, said Wismansyah, is expected to be able to use this museum as an educational tour in adding historical insight because it is equipped with a library.nnThis museum contains historical photos of cadets while studying at the Tangerang Military Academy and the Lengkong Event, in Lengkong Village, Serpong, on January 25, 1946, divided into three rooms.nnThe first room is a mini library containing historical books that are preserved and preserved photos of the archipelago heroes.nnIn the middle of the room that carries the concept of modern minimalism, there are a number of photos of the cadets and a brief history of the Lengkong Event which is complemented by photos of the heroes.nnWhile the third room is designed as a time of struggle when veterans provide material to students so that they can bring up the spirit of struggle.
