Tado Homestay

I was thrilled to find this bamboo haven in the rice fields as I was finishing a day of cycling in Flores. The family running it are great and they’re connected with the local village nearby, where you can go to see how things are made, drink some coffee, or just hang out with the locals. There’s a nice trek up a hill for sunrise and the spiderweb rice fields are close by. Not to mention, the bamboo huts to sleep in are really cool.

Very nice village with several Homestay. You stay with the local family in the house and they treat you so friendly. The surroundings are beautiful and peaceful. Our host even took us to a local school. Perfect place to enjoy the local lifestyle in a relaxed (non touristic) way.

Take your time here for a while before continue your overland trip through Flores island. You can enjoy local coffee with rive field atmosphere that surround the building. From here also you can have a several tour to village, or do treking with local guide.

Stopped here only for a fresh drink after a long day ridding a motorbike. I asked if fresh drinks are available. The owner said yes. In fact they only have a Coke and it was hot like pee... And it cost doble... Just wanted to place a tour in his ugly yellow rice field or a night in the crappie homestay. Pass your way and save time and money.
