Stayed here May 2019. The guesthouse that Irwan and his partner run is impressive on arrival, it’s just 50 m back from the main road which was a nice touch compared to the other guest houses in ketambe. It felt immersed in the jungle.nIrwan was very welcoming, knowledgeable and open to sharing his life and experiences. He is humble, open to improvements and responsive to any issues.nTake into account of where you are, the jungle, the rooms are basic but have what you need, are fairly priced, comfortable and clean.nThe guesthouse restaurant have a good variety of food (not only indo) but recommend ordering earlier than you expect to eat.nIrwan also organized an airport-guesthouse transport for us which saved us the headache of figuring it out ourselves. Great place, great people, great experience.

Great guesthouse, good room for 100k and friendly people.nnWe stayed 1 night before the jungle trekking and one night after.nIn-between the jungle trekking your big luggage is stored for free at the reception.nWe got a recommendation for a good guide and he works together with the guesthouse.nnWould go again and recommend to friends!

It's a wonderful place wich is a little part of paradise.nGuides and the owner are amazing. If you want to see wildlife in the jungle it is the place you need to go.

AWESOME SERVICE !!nnI arrived to the place, not knowing what to expect. Imidiately I recognized the difference between this place and all the others. They are located between the main road and the forest, which means they have a lot of trees around and shadow. Compared to the other places that are mostly on the opposite side of the street, between the river and the road. Central to the Pondok Wisata is the restaurant/reception which is surrounded by a beautiful garden and full of nice pictures of the jungle tracking trips. The place is owed by a Duch/Indonesian couple. The food is delicious, with low prices. The water refill is for free, just ask for it. The owners Iwan and Devi even joined me for the dinner across the street and shared a couple of stories of Sumatra life with me. I booked a two day jungle trip in Pondok with Rudi (guide) and Izy (jungle cook) and loved it. The bungalow is a good price/value compromise. It was 70.000 rupiah and you have your own toilet. There is no mirror or shower head in it, so you shower with the bucket. The toilet had a toilet seat, though. The morning I was leaving Iwan helped me to catch a bus to Kutachane and said goodbye. Amazing people and lovely place. The internet runs on 4G, so if you don't have your own local Sim Card, they will give you Hotspot, no problem. I totally recommend the place, when you are visiting Ketambe :)
