Candi Puntadewa

Puntadewa temple complex, an old temple in the Dieng plateau, Banjarnegara, Central Java. Similar to Sembadra temple, Puntadewa temple is built not too high (+ - 5m), with a terraced mountain stone structure, leading to the main hall of the temple whose roof is covered by a stupa (peak). Some statues on the inside of the temple have been damaged. And when I visited here, there was a kind of bamboo stagger for renovation. Puntadewa Temple is located in the Arjuna temple complex. Completed in restoration in 2017. This temple faces west. The uniqueness of this temple, has a multilevel statue recesses on the east and south walls, while the recesses on the north wall are not terraced. Another uniqueness at the entrance at the foot of the temple, right and left there is a statue of a lion. Inside the temple booth there is Yoni without a phallus.

The top of the roof has also been destroyed, so the original form is no longer visible. On all four sides of the roof there are also small niches such as places to put statues. The door is equipped with a viewer booth and is given a frame decorated with sticky paper motifs.nnThe space in the temple's body is narrow and empty. On the other three sides there is a window whose frame is decorated similar to the one on the door. About half a meter outside the foot of the temple there is a stone arranged around the foot of the temple. In front of the temple there are stones arranged around a square-shaped room. In the middle of the room there are two piles of two round stones with a pointed peak.nnIn the north of the temple there are stones arranged around a rectangular room. In the middle of the room there are two stone shaped like a large crock.
