It is said that the name Tuk Si Bedug originated from the story of the journey of Sunan Kalijaga, a Muslim religious figure. Sunan Kalijaga is one of the other nine Sunan that was given the mandate by God to spread Islam in the Land of Java. On his way to spreading Islamic teachings, Sunan Kalijaga stopped at a large tree in Seyegan village. At that time was a Pahing Friday in the Javanese calendar. In accordance with Islamic teachings, every Friday arrives, male Muslims, especially including Sunan Kalijaga, are required to perform Friday prayers.nHowever, when Sunan wanted to take ablution water, Sunan did not find any water. By asking for help from Almighty God, Sunan Kalijaga then stuck his stick into the ground and before long, the spring immediately came out of the originally barren land. The spring was later known as Tuk Si Bedug and as a form of respect for the people of Seyegan for Sunan Kalijaga, the Tuk Si Bedug tradition was carried out.
