Kampung Heritage Lawang Seketeng

Surabaya now has one more heritage tourism destination, Kampung Lawang Seketeng. Coinciding on Heroes' Day yesterday, the village which is adjacent to the Ampel area has officially become a historical tourism village. Traces of buildings in this village actually existed more than 100 years ago, even it is said that this village had lived in the Majapahit era. That is evidenced by archaeological findings in the form of Jobong wells, which are identical to similar wells found at the Majapahit royal site in Trowulan. As is known, Surabaya was indeed the main port of the Majapahit kingdom at that time.nnIn addition to the many old buildings that smelled of colonial times, the Lawang Seketeng village was closely related to the history of the struggle. Here it was a place of birth and childhood playing for the Soekarno's national heroes. There was a Dukur langgar (1893) which became a place to study the boy who would become the first Indonesian president.nnOf course since it was launched as a heritage tourism village, the residents who are native there still must continue to improve.
