Based on the mandate of the Darussalam Gontor Modern Boarding School TRIMURTI and the decision of the Darussalam Gontor Modern Boarding School Waqf Board Session in its 25th session on 7 - 8 Rabiul Awwal 1411, the Head of the Darussalam Gontor Modern Islamic Boarding School opened the Islamic Boarding School starting from the 1410-1411 academic year in Sambirejo village, Mantingan , Ngawi, East Java. The establishment of this pesantren was also supported by the proposal of the participants of the Darussalam Gontor Modern Boarding School Alumni Kyai Gathering in their session in Muharram 1410, and the proposal of the IKPM V Great Deliberation (MUBES) at the Darussalam Gontor Modern Boarding School on 16-17 Rabiul Tsani 1409 H.nnIn preparation for the opening of the female Islamic boarding school, several activities were held, including: construction of the necessary buildings and facilities, starting on September 26, 1988, the organization of the pesantren kilat in collaboration with the Management and Community Development Training Center (PLMPM) for junior high school / high school students, on the 24th. - December 31, 1989, the appointment of the Director of Kulliyatul Mu'allimat Al-Islamiyah (KMI), the educators and teachers, the procurement of the Islamic Boarding School for Women Special Ramadan in 1410, and finally the opening of the registration of new students in the month of Shawwal 1410.nnOn 6Dzulqo'dah 1410/31 May 1990, the Darussalam Gontor Modern Islamic Boarding School was inaugurated by the Minister of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia, H. Munawir Syadzali, M.A. The inauguration ceremony was also attended by the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Egyptian Cultural Attache, Director of LIPIA Jakarta, invited guests from the ranks of the Ministry of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia, government officials, community leaders and the large family of the Darussalam Gontor Modern Cottage.nnExactly on the 10th of Shawwal 1410, the registration for new students began to open. At the beginning of its establishment, the Darussalam Gontor Islamic Boarding School for Girls received 298 female students from 308 registrants, and involved 18 teachers who functioned as caregivers and mentors in the boarding school dormitories.
