Rumah Adat Mandar

Lived in the house from '94 to '10 ... it was built in 1991, faithfully following a drawing found in a late 19th / early 20th century manuscript from Mandar, an area ca 300km N from Makassar. Yes, was nice and cool in there ... .nThe manuscript where the drawing is in tells of the early history of Mandar, beginning with events that took place in perhaps the late 15th century; and as at the time of it being written the heyday of Mandar had long passed, it is a kind of dream palace of a time long gone by ... .nnUnfortunately, the Museum Benteng Somba Opu is not was it was say 15 years ago - so don't expect things to still look like it was when we were still living in the house ... .

Mandar traditional house located in the Somba Opu fort, which is its mini park, South Sulawesi.nStill standing firm but not maintained. So less interested to go visit.nThere needs to be special handling to maintain this location which has become a tourist place in the city of Makassar
