Perpustakaan Gondang Winangoen

The New Gondang Sugar Factory, originally called Winangoen Gondang Sugar Factory, was founded in 1860 by N.V Klatensche Cultuur Maats Chapij based in Amsterdam in the Netherlands. The management is carried out by N.V Mirandotte Voute and Co, located in Semarang.nnIn 1930-1935 the factory did not produce because of the economic crisis. In 1935-1942 the factory was operational again led by Boerman and M.F Bremmers. In 1942-1945 the Gondang Winangoen sugar factory was controlled by the Japanese led by Nisiko and Inogaki, but the manager was assisted by M.F Bremmers, a Dutchman.nnWhen the independence reformation took place in 1945, the sugar factory was controlled by the Indonesian people which was managed by the State Sugar Company Administration Board (BPPGN) and led by Doekoet (1945-1948).nnIn 1948 there was a second Dutch military aggression so the factory did not operate. In 1950 a new factory was produced again. Based on a decree from the Indonesian government stipulating that all Dutch-owned companies were taken over by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia, in December 1957 the Winangoen Gondang Sugar Factory was entirely owned by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia whose management was handed over to the Semarang unit's new PPN (State Plantation Company) led by Semarang R. Iman Soempono (1957-1960) and the name of the Winangoen Gondang Sugar Factory was changed to the New Gondang Sugar Factory.
