CHRIST the REDEEMER, I was saving these pictures to be able to post at this time. I always thought about the day that I would be able to see the CHRIST the REDEEMER. It was absolutely spectacular, I was not disappointed. For me, what was shocking, was how small the statue was. We could see it for miles and miles but when we actually got to go there we found out that it was only 30 meters tall. It always looks larger than life.nnThe statue of Jesus Christ is at the summit of Mount Corcovado in Rio de Janeiro Brazil, it was built in 1931 and is known as the largest art deco style sculpture in the world.nnIt was amazing and I’m so glad that we went at a off time because we got to see and meet people from all over the world experiencing this incredible statue. We experience such joy, people praying and taking in the feeling of being welcomed by his open arms.nnIt literally reaches to heaven. When you get close so you can see lightning rods on the top of the arms and on the head of the statue.nnBack in 2007 Christ the Redeemer was chosen as one of the seven wonders of the modern world.

I visited when I went to Brazil about 5 years ago and enjoyed every second of it. Nice ride to the top on a van and the views are priceless. You can see topical green (plants with lush green leaves) everywhere. It is a must see attraction! Will update my photos at a later time!

Very surreal experience! This is a breathtaking attraction that pictures won’t do justice. The statue is an amazing sculpture in person and truly one of the new 7 wonders of the world. If you are ever in Rio, this is a MUST see!!!nnI recommend taking water bottles, sunglasses and sunscreen if you are fair skinned like me! There are also cool shops and snack bars to indulge in as well!

We caught a great weather in the morning, also, we recommend people visiting in the morning, otherwise they might caught clouds coming over and see almost nothing. We took an Uber from Ipanema to Cristo Redentor and it only cost us around 46 which is around 8 almost 9$ for a 40 min ride. We purchased our tickets online, the website was asking for some legal papers that only Brazilians have as citizens. To be honest I dont know why they ask for that for purchasing some online tickets but the good thing is that we were able to pass through the entrance without anybody asking us to show them these particular papers. Ticket price ranges from 68.5 Reals off season to 83.5 on season. There are two railways, one going up and one coming down from the mountain. You will be taken uphill by a trail with a couple of stops along the way. We recommend sitting on the left side while being going up. Once we reached the top, we took an elevator for like 2-3 floors and we reached Christ the redeemer. The views are breathtaking. It is totally worth the trip and the money spent!

Awesome experience to be there. Can be detailed as man made God (marvel). Not to be missed, marvellous place in Rio. View of Rio and sugar loaf mountain from the mountain top is wonderful.nnStatue is also visible from the coastline of Niteroi, from where you can see Sugar loaf mountain too. View after sunset is also wonderful, when the statue can be seen graced with white light. Amazing!!
