Museum Blambangan

A very tiny museum next to the Tourist Information Center. Shows a bit of the archeological finds in the region but not much more. Interesting to visit if you are in the vicinity but no more than 15-30 minutes needed to see it all - if you don’t hurry.

Blambangan Museum is the auspices of the Banyuwangi Regency Culture and Tourism Office. This museum is located in the northern part of the Disbudpar complex next to SMP Negeri 1 Banyuwangi. You can easily find this museum with a facade that reads Blambangan Museum in front of the fence of the Culture and Tourism Office.nnIn front of this museum you are presented with the appearance of a train imported directly from solo (cmiiw). Moving towards this museum on the right is a list of kings and regents who lead the eastern tip of the island of Java. When you enter the main door, on your right, there is an infographic of the geological history of Banyuwangi Regency thousands of years ago. On the left side there is a window displaying a collection of old objects such as typewriters, tvs, and others. Then, turning to the right you will see artifacts evidencing the past glory of the Blambangan Kingdom. In addition, you will also be given new insights into the legend of Banyuwangi Regency from archaeologists who are part of the Culture and Tourism Office team, such as who is the Regency Leader who is nicknamed the sunrise of Java and the legend of Sri Tanjung, Minak Jinggo and others scientifically. Continuing to the west, there is a collection of old money that had circulated in Indonesia, a collection of old kitchen utensils, and in the corner of this museum are ancient furniture along with photos and clothes of very old regional leaders.
