Lombok Hidden Trip

My husband and I did the walking tour with Eka in July 2018 (sorry it has taken us a while to write this!) Our time in Mataram was an unexpected highlight of our 3 week trip to Bali and Lombok.nnWe really enjoyed the walking tour with Eka as we really got a locals feel for what is a fairly rarely visited city despite the being so close to the tourist hubs of Bali and Lombok itself. We enjoyed visiting both the mosque and church and learning about the history of the island; the highlight for us was enjoying lunch with our guide Eka at a very local restaurant at the end of the tour.nnMore than 2 years on we still think back to the great time we had on the walking tour and in Mataram in general; we truly felt welcomed by the friendly (though unintrusive) locals which made it a refreshing break the usual hotspots we also visited. Mataram was a great insight into the daily lives of the beautiful people of Indonesia, we would recommend any visitor to Lombok should put Mataram on your itinerary and go on Eka's walking tour!
