Manta Dive Resort Gili Air

Manta dive is a great place to stay on Gili Air. The location is brilliant- right on a great snorkelling location where I saw turtles, mantis shrimp, cuttlefish and more. The location is also just off the busy strip of beach on this side of the island, but close enough to walk to everything easily.The staff are lovely and the breakfasts are very tasty. Our room was very comfortable with nice chilly AC and pleasant indoor/outdoor bathroom. For beachfront this resort is great value.

Nothing to say about the quality of the resort or dive courses. However! Today my friend and I found a big fishing net 300 meters of the coast while we were snorkeling pretty far out, asked the closest boat, ( A manta Dive boat) whether they would please take it, and they refused, leaving us in open water with a meters-long fishnet. Good one on ya Manta Dive..that ocean out there is literally what makes you your money.

Manta dive is a great diving club. The atmosphere is super friendly and chilled, while at the same time clearly taking safety very seriously and not joking about rules. The equipment is in very good shape.nI took 3 advanced adventure dives with Asja and she was a wonderful instructor. Very through and clear during briefings, and very attentive and encouraging during and after the dives. She was also great at spotting the very rare Mandarin fish during our night dive!nnGood to know maybe: they (and all other dive schools on the island do the same I believe) pick 2 or 3 dive spots every day (1 morning dive, 1 afternoon dive, sometimes one night dive) and everyone just goes there in several small groups, there is no option to choose the spots. So if you absolutely want to go to some specific dive spots, I'd recommend you plan to spend more days in Gili air than you need to be able to pick and choose when to go for a dive.
