Entry was IDR50.000 (USD3.50) for the whole car, but it was really worth it. It was a stunning white sandy beach and definetely one of the best beach I visited in Sumba Island. I love to play with the waves and this beach is perfect. The beach also has a very beautiful view and it became magical during sunset. If you want to take a rest from the waves, go up to the cliff and watch a mesmerizing view from there. If you are an adventurous type, you can walk the small path towards the other white sandy beach in the other side of the cliff, and it was also beautiful. Rumor said that the property belong to one foreigner that plan to build a private villa there but left before the project finish. So upon entry, you will need to pass the private-looking gate, and there wasnt any official ticket, only locals asking you to pay.nFrom where you park your car, you can see an almost-finished, abandoned construction that shaped like a traditional house.nWhen you got off the car, bunch of local kids will gather around you. They are probably curious, and they also want to sell you some stuff, or they want to help you take picture for money. But if you are not interested in any of that, they would still love to be around you, talking to you.

The beach might be nice, but we didn’t get to see it because we were very upset with some locals asking for money and we turned around. First they asked 50,000rp for parking at the gate, and one hundred meters further another 20,000rp for no reason. They just wanted more money, a bunch of youngsters doing nothing but smoking cigarettes and waiting for someone to rip off. Their manners were rude and very aggressive, even our local diver was scared that they would damage the car, so we decided to leave. It’s a shame for the Sumbanese people and the first time we were threatened that way. And anyway, a few kms from there we found a fantastic and almost deserted beach and of course we didn’t have to pay anything. So, do yourself a favour and avoid this place.

Stunning location. Great for some relaxing beach time in amazing blue tides.
