My partner and I had an amazing experience participating in this cooking class. It was educational and the staff were very friendly. They gave us recipe books to follow and later take home, and also provided their contact details if we want to follow up with any questions. We participated in the afternoon session and were lucky enough to have an intimate group with only one other couple. Note that they mentioned mornings are more popular and can be quite full, with over 20 people participating earlier that day. There’s plenty of room for larger parties but we enjoyed having a smaller group. They picked us up for free in central Ubud, so we didn’t have to find our own way there which was nice, because it’s about 15-20 minutes outside of central Ubud and taxis can be a nightmare. We made several courses that included an appetizer soup, a handful of entrees, and dessert. Vegan options are easily available and everything is quite customizable if you have allergies or dietary preferences. Note that gluten free may be a challenge, as soy sauce was a staple in many dishes. We came away with some recipes we’re excited to make at home and we loved that it’s a really unique experience in a traditional Balinese family home. The staff gave us great insight into Balinese life, family, and traditions. Overall, we’d highly recommend it if you want to get closer to Balinese culture and learn from the locals.

What a fun experience! You get to visit the local markets and participate in a group cooking class. Fantastic amount of information given not just on the food but also Balinese culture. Best of all, you get to enjoy the delicious food!

My husband & I took this cooking class with two other couples and we all had a wonderful time. Learned about cooking traditional Balinese dishes and a bit about Balinese culture as well. Everything was fun, delicious, and the recipes were easy to follow. We even got a copy of the recipe book to take home.

The staff is incredible. We chose to do a morning session which included a trip to the local market. The driver was the best! He picked us up from our villa and it seemed like he knew everyone at the local market. He showed us exotic fruits & vegetables. We learned a lot and felt at home like true locals. The cooking class itself was absolutely incredible. It was a memorable experience, the staff treats you like family, tells great stories, and are awesome teachers. We highly recommend going here as a fun activity for everyone!
