Hasanuddin University as the parent organization of the Postgraduate Program was established on 10 September 1956 by Vice President I Drs. Moh. Hatta. But the forerunner to the birth of a new Postgraduate program began 34 years later (1980), when the Rector of Hasanuddin University Prof. Dr. A. Amiruddin formed the Postgraduate Education Preparatory Committee chaired by Prof. Dr. Ir. Fachrudin The task of the committee is to prepare for the opening of Postgraduate Education at the Masters level (S2), in order to meet the needs of teaching staff in improving teaching and learning in Higher Education, as well as to meet the needs of regional and national development in Indonesia.
