MTs Negeri 3 Indragiri Hilir is one of the formal educational institutions based on the national education system which is characterized by Islam and has the principle of Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution with the aim of intellectualizing the life of the nation and developing a fully Indonesian human being, namely, a faithful human being and devoted to God Almighty and virtuous noble character has steady and independent knowledge and skills and is responsible for society and the nation.nMTs Negeri 3 Indragiri Hilir was established in 1934, before officially becoming a secondary-level educational institution recognized by the government, Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri Enok underwent a long historical process, first standing the name of Enok State MTs was Musyawaratau Thalibin in 1934-1964, then changed the name became Islamic Middle School (SMPI) in 1964-1969, subsequently changed its name again to become a 4-year Private Religion Teacher Education (PGAS 4 Years) in 1969-1978, as the head of the school at that time was Ustadz Dahlan Saleh, then the name was changed became Madrasah Tsanawiyah Nurul Huda Enok in 1978-1987, as the leader of the school was Ustadz Ardan Syam, the next development became Enil State Fililahan MTs in 1988-1993, based on the Decree of the Director General of Islamic Institution No. 08 / SE / 1988 dated March 25, 1988 and as the principal of Drs. M. Rusli. The next development only later became the Enok State MTs, based on the decree of the Minister of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia No. 244 in 1993 by the Minister of Religion DR. H. Tarmizi Taher. While the inauguration was held on January 20, 1994 by the Governor of Riau Soeripto, and the new Enok Negeri MTs building was inaugurated on March 24, 1995 by the Regent of Indragiri Hilir H. Azwin Ya'kub. Based on the Decree of the Minister of Religion No. 669 of 2016 concerning the Change of Name of State Aliyah Madrasah, State Tsanawiyah Madrasah and State Ibtidaiyah Madrasah In Riau Province, Enok State MTs changed its name to State MTs 3 Indragiri Hilir.nThe names of the Madrasah head who once led Enok State MTs were Drs. M. Rusli in 1998-2003, Drs. Abd. Muis in 2003-2006, Tarmizi Ahmad, S.Ag in 2006-2009, Drs. Abd. Muin in 2009-2014, Abdul Rahman S. Ag in 2014-2017, Indra Sabarianto, S.Pd.I, MA in 2017-present.

This madrasa came from the private madrasah of the Nurul Huda Enok Foundation under the name MTs Nurul Huda Enok. Then it became a filial madrasa with the name MTs Negeri Tembilahan Filial Enok. Located on Jl. Letda M. Boya Enok, Indragiri Hilir Regency, Riau 29272. In this madrasa I was in Secondary Education.nAround 1994 this madrasa was declared to be the Enok State MTs. And move to a new location on Jl. Teratai Enok, Regency of Indragiri Hilir, Riau 29272. Its position is between the Enok Lurah Office and the Enok District Office of Religious Affairs.nIn 2016 this madrasa changed nomenclature again to MTS STATE 3 INDRAGIRI HILIR with National School Principal Number 10498963.nAt present the condition is quite alarming ... The full madrasa yard is flooded when the tide rises.
