During my drive heading to Fairbanks. Did this drive from Anchorage to Fairbanks from 06/2019-04/20/2020.

The most magical place on Earth. If you are lucky enough to see the peak of Mt. McKinley, you will be absolutely BLOWN AWAY. Amazing landscape and an abundance of wildlife. I also so a bear and cubs on my trip. Such a beautiful national park.

One of the worst national parks I've been to. Visitor center and gift shop closed. Directed you to the winter visitor center, also closed. No idea why. Park Road was open to mile 13 so we were able to hike a bit but the trails were snowed over and not marked at all. Never saw a single park employee. Never saw a single animal either for that matter. Not sure what I paid money for. Let be honest, the view is beautiful but it's just as nice on the AK3 coming by the park. Save your money and keep on driving.

What a beautiful place to visit! I was there in January and I’ve heard it’s not the best time to visit, but it was still so beautiful! Nothing... and I mean nothing... is open. Not even the visitors center, which I knew before going. I really wish there was some place I could have stopped to get a little information, but there was hardly anyone there visiting so I understand why they wouldn’t have anything open. Not much of the park is open, I think only the first 3 miles. But it was still great to visit and I could take my time driving around, stopping and taking pictures whenever I wanted. I’m glad I had a 4 wheel drive, I’m sure a 2 wheel with good tires would be fine, but for a winter visit I would try and go with a 4 wheel drive. Worth the drive from Fairbanks for me!
