UM Library is a UM central library located in the middle of campus. There are many references to scientific works here. Students can also borrow library materials, especially for textbooks. Each student has the right to borrow 3 books for 2 weeks and can be extended for 2 weeks. Lecturers, graduate students, and students who are taking thesis have 7 books borrowing rights for a period of 2 weeks and can be extended for 2 weeks. The library also provides Internet services and several computers that can be accessed by students. Operating hours are open every day except Sundays and national holidays.

Vision of Malang State University Library (UM)nBeing a center of knowledge resources for the development of science, culture and humanity.nnMission of Malang State University Library (UM)nThe realization of UM Library as a center of knowledge resources for the development of science, culture, and humanity.nnMalang State University at its inception came from the Teacher Education College (PTPG) which was inaugurated by the Minister of Teaching and Culture Education, Prof. Mr. Muhammad Yamin on 18 October 1954. On 10 November 1954, the establishment of Airlangga University in Surabaya was inaugurated and PTPG became one of the faculties of Airlangga University. Based on Government Regulation (PP) No. 71 of 1958, PTPG formally became the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) of Airlangga University. Subsequently in 1963 (Kepres no. 1) a policy was issued to unify several FKIPs and the Teacher Education Institute (IPG) in Madiun to become the Teaching and Science and Education Institute (IKIP) located in Malang, and the library building was on Jl. Semarang Number 5 is adjacent to the IKIP Malang head office. In 1990 the IKIP Malang Library building occupied a new building in the middle of the campus with an area of ​​5,340 m2 consisting of three floors. Since the birth of Malang State University, Presidential Decree Number 93 of 1999 concerning the change of IKIP into a University. Since it was established in Jakarta on August 4, 1999, the IKIP Malang library was changed to UPT Library of the State University of Malang with the address on Jl. Semarang 5 Malang and led by Prof. Dr. Djoko Saryono, M.Pd who was inaugurated since February 2015 until now. Following are the names of leaders from 1956 to the present.
