Deeply saddened by how our embassy handled our passport renewal cases. Their hotlines are close to unreachable and when I managed to connect with one of their staffs eventually, I was given a lesson for asking about the passport collection date. The inquiry wasn’t properly addressed and she put down the call halfway through. I understood the high renewal traffic they are experiencing right now but perhaps a bit of politeness would make things better.

Renunciation was quite fast(approx 1hour with queuing and form filling). 30min q, 30 min admin. Staff giving out forms + counter staff were very polite & friendly.nnDo note that you have to photocopy x2 the surrender letter tho its not stated in the list , glad that the staff helped me despite me bringing only the original.nnThe booking of appointment to actual visit was ~ 3-4 months so do book early once u get the oath letter.

Still plenty of room for improvement. Should at the very least, prepare some temporarily tents, rather asking people to queue under scorching sun.

Used agent for online application. Received email last Saturday with instructions to pick up today from 3-6pm. Only one person in front of me at 430pm in the dedicated queue for email pickup. All done in 5 minutes. Very friendly staff at counter. Bravo for the super fast service!!!

Applying online will be least hassle for passport renewal. I'm glad it only took 1 day for me to get a new passport. Arrive at 9.30 am got queue#84 almost straightaway, submit papers at 10.00 am, got another #1045 and complete photo taking by 11 plus. If unable to upload photo, just load a screenshot of error and make payment online. The official receipt will be the ticket to get you in the HiComm. At the end they will re-take your photo at counter. Later returned to collect new passport at 4 pm. I didn't encounter any rude staff. In fact kudos to the officer who was managing the queue and patiently explain to each individual of different requirements. And I still remember the same Indian lady security officer from 5 years ago. She's still around ud83dude09. Lastly why spend money on an 'agent'? ud83dude0f
