Exceptional! By far the best hotel we've ever experienced in Malaysia. It brings a whole new level to service standards in Desaru and we were so impressed! The resort itself is stunning and looks like Thailand, the gardens are lush, the food great and buffets plentiful. Good selection of cocktails, beautiful rooms and clean beach. Above all, the staff went out of their way to make us comfortable and ensure we had a memorable experience. The entire team are very well trained and professional. Loved every minute and can't wait to return!

Hotel is beautiful, resort is well laid out with great proximity to the beach. Rooms are nice with a great balcony that has a day bed where you can relax, have a coffee and enjoy they elevated views. Food was poor for the price paid, expectation was much higher based on reviews for both breakfast and the evening meal at Turmeric Restaurant. Overall would recommend staying at the hotel for the environment but save the money and eat out for better standard of food.

Stayed 2 nights with my wife and daughter. When we check-in, they told me require to pay extra Rm200 per night for my daughter even stay in existing King size bed without extra bed. We stayed in many resorts and hotels before, this is the first resort we had to pay for extra. My daughter was 9yr old. Be ready RM1000 for deposit when check in, incredible. There are lots of better choices with budget of 1000+ per night in Malaysia, definitely not Desaru. Lost my Gopro7 during the stay, and they could not find it. What a disappointment trip and bad experience for us.

I stayed here a few days ago-and I was very impressed. The set-up/environment is very simple but in the best way possible. The only down-side was the food (specially the Malaysian cuisine). For the high price tags, it definitely wasn’t worth it. The food is very pricey (i understand you are paying for the environment itself/hotel prices are high in general, but for the taste of the food it was definitely not worth it). I’m glad you could book a reservation/table for other restaurantsn‘connected’/‘with’ Anantara. Additional to that, there aren’t many activities to do apart from; bicycle cycling (bikes free to use at the hotel), a room called the ‘teen room’ (enjoyed playing 2x3 hours of table tennis-ps won majority of games haha), the beach of course, and other normal things you would find at most hotels such as; swimming (two different pools), spy (my mum really enjoyed it) and a gym. Overall 4/5 only downside has to be the price tags and/or food tastes. Besides the pandemic, most activities were still open yet kept safe and followed S.O.P. Hope you enjoy your next trip to Desaru (if you do decide to come)! :)

Absolutely amazing. The best hotel I have stayed in Malaysia. It is excellent by international standards. The Delux Sea View rooms are perfect. Great view, large, comfortable and clean. The restaurants are great and best of all, the staff are all AMAZING. Really really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be coming back
