The establishment of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Tanjungpura was spearheaded by the Rector of UNTAN for the period 1982-1991 (Prof. Dr. H. Hadari Nawawi) and began with the establishment of the Untan Mathematics and Natural Sciences Management Agency (BP. Tanjungpura University Chancellor Number: 4669 / PT29.H / E / 1992, November 26, 1992. In 1999 based on the Decree of the Tanjungpura University Chancellor number: 193a / J22 / KP / 1999, April 1, 1999, which was carried out by BPMIPA officials as well as changing names The Mathematics and Natural Sciences Management Agency (BPMIPA) became the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA).
