The legendary lemang seller.nnLemang is a typical food, considered to be originated from West Sumatra Province, Indonesia. The lemang being sold in Tebing Tinggi City usually made by the seller of Minangnese (of West Sumatra) descendants.nnIt is made by filling bamboo tube with sticky-rice grains, coconut milk and certain spices, then roast the tube in open fire.nnThe result is a sort of rice cake that is extremely savory, rich, fluffy, and sticky.nnTraditionally served with various sides: beef rendang, durian, fermented black-sticky-rice (tape pulut hitam), or, as for the Tebing Tinggi style lemang: with srikaya/kaya (an extremely sweet, rich custard made with yolks, coconut milk, sugar and pandan leaves).
