I am giving 3 star for this review as I am expecting improvement from the management of this port.nnFirst of all, the port seems to be poorly organized except the dock for the vehicle ferry. If you are using the regular boats used also by the locals (passenger only,no vehicles except motorcycles), you are not allowed to use the port parking although they have large space for it. I had to move my car to the privately owned parking ground across the road and paid some fees to make sure my car is safely guarded. Yes, everything in North Sumatera costs money, including the use of public toilets.nnThe dock itself is very unsafe as they have only one piece of wood as a ramp to walk onto the ferry. To approach your ferry, you need to go through a busy local market and report to onsite officials where you need to write down your name as a passenger. You do not need to pay here, but ferry staff will collect the fare on the boat (Rp. 8,000/adult), so just walk onto the boat and find your seat.nnThere is currently a construction work ongoing, so expect to see construction materials on your visit. The rest of your journey will be a lifetime memory of Lake Toba, if the weather is good.

The main ferry jetty in from Ajibata - Tomok - Ajibata. Well managed but they need to manage the time schedule of departure and fery changing here because people have to wait long time to go.
