When I want to capture this monument, I meet many traders carrying herbal medicine. And they were Javanese, but I didn't ask where the Javanese came from. Indeed according to my friend, almost 60% of the population of Sawahlunto city is still of Javanese descent. Including my friend. He was born and raised in Sawahlunto, but his great-grandfather was originally from Purwokerto who was a mining worker. All mining workers are Javanese who were forced to work by the Dutch. For those who have finished their work and are still alive, the Netherlands actually offers to repatriate. But many eventually settled and made a family in Sawahlunto.

Tugu m yamin sawahlunto, historic monument of Indonesian heroes born in sawahlunto city.
